Retail boutique

A boutique is often found on foot, so the sign has to look right from the sidewalk as well as the street. Halo-lit letters give a refined front that still glows at night, and a blade sign catches people walking along the block. We draw both on a photo of your storefront, lit and unlit, with an exact price.

From idea to switch-on

  1. Read your lease and any main street or historic district rules; they often set lighting and size.
  2. Measure the sign band above the window and check where a blade sign bracket could go.
  3. Send your logo, the measurements and a storefront photo for a free drawing.
  4. Approve the drawing, choose finishes and light color, and file the permit.
  5. Your installer mounts the letters and the bracket; an electrician connects outdoor power.

Tip: On a street with many people walking, a small blade sign can do more than bigger letters on the wall: people see it as they walk toward you, not only when they reach your window.

Questions

Halo-lit or front-lit letters for a boutique?

Halo-lit letters give a softer, upscale look and keep your metal finish visible by day. Trimless front-lit letters are brighter and easier to read from a car, and still look clean because there is no trim cap.

Do I need a permit for a blade sign?

Usually. Cities set how far a projecting sign can stick out and how high it must be above the sidewalk, so check your sign code before you order. The approved drawing gives the sizes the permit application asks for.

Can I get a lit sign for my shop window?

Yes. A round lightbox with your logo printed on the face plugs in and hangs inside the window; the double-sided version shows the logo to the street and to the shop.

Can the letters match my brand color?

Yes. Send a Pantone, RAL or paint brand code: non-lit letters are painted to it, and halo-lit faces can be painted or printed in your colors. The color is shown on your drawing before anything is built.

Not sure which sign fits?
