Free sign drawings and permit drawing packages

Every sign we make starts on paper. You send your logo or text and the size of your wall; we email a free drawing with a lit preview and an exact price, and nothing is built until you approve it. Payment is by card through an invoice or payment link, and larger orders can pay by ACH bank transfer.

The free sign drawing, sometimes called a mockup or proof, redraws your logo to scale on your wall, shows it lit at night, and lists the sizes, materials, colors and mounting. It is also the easiest way to show a landlord exactly what will go on the facade. To get one, ask for a quote and send a vector logo file if you have it; the guide to what file to send explains the options.

Most cities want drawings before they issue a sign permit. The permit drawing package turns your approved drawing into a set for the permit counter: the sign on your building, overall and letter sizes, sign area, materials, mounting method and electrical notes. You or your installer file the permit. We do not file permits or provide engineer-stamped drawings, so ask your city early whether a stamp is needed. The guides to what cities ask for and how cities measure sign area help you prepare.

Installation, permits and the electrician who connects a hard-wired sign are not included. Before you ask, the price estimator gives a quick range.

  • Send a vector logo file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) for the sharpest drawing.
  • A straight-on daylight photo of the wall with a tape measure in view makes placement exact.
  • Ask your permit office early whether it needs an engineer's stamp.
  • Show the approved drawing to your landlord before you apply for the permit.

Questions

Is the sign drawing really free?

Yes. It comes with every quote, and nothing is built or charged until you approve the drawing and pay.

What do I need to send for a drawing?

Your logo file or text, the wall size or a photo of the wall with a tape measure in view, where the sign goes and whether it is indoor or outdoor.

Do you file the sign permit for me?

No. Our permit drawing package gives you the drawings; you or your installer file the permit with the city.

Can you provide engineer-stamped drawings?

No. If your city requires a stamp, a local engineer can work from our drawings. Ask your permit office early so you can plan for it.

Do you install signs?

No. Installation, permits and the electrician who connects a hard-wired sign are not included. Every sign ships with a full-size paper template and mounting hardware for your installer.
