Lit logo signs, backer panels and halo-lit acrylic panels

A logo is rarely just letters. These signs carry the mark itself, the symbol people recognize, as well as the name. People search for them as 3D logo signs, illuminated logos, backer board signs or backlit acrylic signs.

A lit logo sign builds your logo mark as a 3D channel shape with 304 stainless steel returns, halo-lit, front-lit or not lit. Fine details are simplified only where they cannot be built, and the drawing shows any change for your approval. It is priced by the width and height of the box around the logo.

Letters on a backer panel mount your letters or logo on a painted metal or acrylic panel that goes on the wall as one piece. That means fewer holes in the wall, wiring hidden behind the panel and a sign that is easy to move to a new location. The guide to individual letters vs a backer panel compares the two.

A halo-lit acrylic panel is a flat 8 mm acrylic panel printed with your full-color artwork, cut to a rectangle or to the outline of your logo. An LED tube runs around the back, and the panel always stands off the wall on stainless standoffs so the light spreads behind it as a halo. It is an indoor, plug-in sign and an affordable way to show a multicolor logo with a glow.

All three are popular on a reception logo wall. Start by sending a vector file; the guide on what file to send explains why.

  • Send your logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) so every curve stays sharp at full size.
  • For a multicolor logo with a glow, a printed acrylic panel keeps every color on the face.
  • Moving in a year or two? A backer panel comes down in one piece and leaves few holes.
  • Try the width of your name next to the logo in the sign preview.
  • Clean printed acrylic with mild soap and water on a microfiber cloth; ammonia glass cleaners can cloud it.

Questions

Can any logo be built as a 3D sign?

Most can. Fine details are simplified only where they cannot be built, and the drawing shows every change before you approve it.

What is the difference between a backer panel sign and letters on the wall?

On a backer panel, the letters are mounted on one panel that goes up as a single piece, with the wiring hidden behind it. Letters on the wall are mounted one by one, flush to the wall.

Why is the halo-lit acrylic panel on standoffs?

The light comes from an LED tube around the back of the panel, and it needs space behind the panel to spread onto the wall as a halo.

Can logo signs go outdoors?
How is a logo sign priced?

By the size of the box around the logo, width times height, in the price estimator. The free drawing gives the exact price.

How deep is a lit logo sign?

The depth is set on your drawing. Halo-lit logos are usually 2 to 3 in deep, and front-lit shapes commonly use 3 in or 5 in returns.

Which sign suits a brick or rough wall?

Letters on a backer panel. The panel gives the letters a smooth, even background, hides the wiring and needs only a few mounting points in the wall.
