Church and community building

A church or community building sign stays up for many years and has to help visitors find you, including after dark. Halo-lit letters with brushed stainless faces look like plain metal letters by day and glow on the wall for evening services and events. Every letter is 304 stainless steel, which does not rust through outdoors.

From idea to switch-on

  1. Agree on the wording, symbol and budget with your board or building committee.
  2. Measure the wall and how far it is from the road; take a straight-on photo with a tape measure in it.
  3. Send the logo or wording for a free drawing with a lit preview and an exact price.
  4. Approve the drawing and use it for the permit and any zoning or design review.
  5. Your installer mounts the letters with the full-size template; an electrician connects power and the photocell.

Tip: Share the drawing, lit and unlit, with your committee before you approve it. Wording, symbol and finish are easy to change on paper and hard to change once the steel is cut.

Questions

Do stainless steel letters rust outdoors?

304 stainless steel does not rust through the way plain steel does, which is why it is used on building facades and monuments. In salt air or near road salt it can show light surface spots, and regular cleaning keeps it bright.

Can you make our cross or emblem?

Yes. Send the artwork and we build it as a 3D shape in 304 stainless steel, halo-lit, front-lit or not lit, to match the letters. Fine details are simplified only where they cannot be built, and the drawing shows any change for your approval.

How do we stop the sign from staying on all night?

A dusk-to-dawn photocell turns it on when it gets dark and a timer turns it off at the time you set. Your electrician wires both on the power side, or we can wire them into a new sign.

Lit or non-lit letters for a church?

Non-lit stainless letters cost less and need no power, but they are hard to see after dark unless the wall is floodlit. If you hold evening services or events, halo-lit letters keep the name visible. Non-lit letters cannot be lit later without rebuilding them.
