It is a flat 8 mm acrylic panel printed with your artwork, cut to a rectangle or to the outline of your logo, with small rounded corners. An LED tube runs around the back of the panel, and the light spreads onto the wall behind it as a halo. Some call it a backlit acrylic sign, an acrylic logo plaque or a standoff sign.
Unlike our channel letters, which mount flush to the wall, this panel always stands off the wall on stainless steel standoffs. The gap behind the panel is what lets the light spread out and frame it. The full-size paper template marks every standoff hole, and the standoffs come with the sign.
It suits logos that do not translate well into separate metal letters: many colors, gradients, fine lettering, a tagline, or an illustration. Because the artwork is printed rather than built letter by letter, it is a budget-friendly way to get a multicolor logo with a halo. Dental and medical offices, salons, studios, offices and shops use it on reception and feature walls.
By day you see your printed logo in full color, raised off the wall with a thin shadow line around it. At night the LED tube lights the wall around the panel, so the logo is framed by a soft band of light. Warm white suits most interiors; white and neutral white are also available, and the dimmer with remote lets you soften it in the evening.
The panel is built for indoor walls and runs on 12 V LEDs through a plug-in adapter, so there is nothing to hard-wire. The power supply and LED modules are UL / cUL listed components. Our recent quotes include panels 48 x 18 in, and the estimator covers panels up to 96 x 48 in.
Send your logo file and the size you want. We email a drawing showing the panel shape, the print and the halo, with the exact price, before production. The price estimator on this page gives a range by panel size. Installation is not included.
How to choose
Choose a panel when your logo is about color and detail: several colors, gradients, small text or an illustration that would lose too much as separate metal letters. If your logo is a bold word or a simple mark in one or two colors, halo-lit channel letters give more depth.
Decide on the shape. A rectangle frames the artwork and keeps the halo even; cutting to the logo outline makes the panel disappear so only the logo shows, as long as the outline is simple enough to cut cleanly.
Pick a smooth, light wall near an outlet and size the panel for the room; a reception wall seen from a few steps away needs less than a lobby seen from the door. Send your logo file, ideally vector or a large print-ready image, and the size you have in mind.
Questions
Why is the panel on standoffs when your letters mount flush?
The LED tube sits behind the panel, and the light needs a gap to spread onto the wall. It is the one sign we always mount on standoffs, and they come with it.
Can the panel be cut to the shape of my logo?
Yes. It can be a rectangle or follow the outline of your logo, with small rounded corners. The drawing shows the exact shape before production.
How does it compare with halo-lit letters?
The panel shows full-color artwork, gradients and fine text, and is a budget-friendly way to get a multicolor logo with a halo. Halo-lit letters are dimensional metal and suit simpler logos and names.
Can it go outdoors?
It is built for indoor walls and runs on a plug-in adapter. For an outdoor sign, look at our halo-lit channel letters.
What file should I send?
A vector file such as AI, EPS, SVG or PDF prints and cuts cleanest. A large, high-resolution image can also be used for the print; the drawing shows how it will look.
How do I hang it?
Tape the full-size paper template to the wall, drill where it marks and fix the standoff bases with anchors suited to the wall. Then set the panel on the standoffs and screw on the caps. Pick a spot near an outlet for the plug-in adapter.
How do I clean the panel?
Dust it first, then wipe with a soft microfiber cloth and water with a drop of mild soap. Do not use glass cleaners with ammonia, alcohol or solvents; over time they can cloud or craze acrylic.
Where does the power cord go?
The cord leaves from behind the panel to the plug-in adapter at the outlet. Choose a spot close to an outlet; a slim paintable cord cover keeps a visible run neat on the wall.
