Gold halo-lit letters, also called gold back-lit or gold reverse channel letters, are our halo-lit channel letters with a gold finish on the face and returns. The letters are 304 stainless steel with a titanium-coated gold finish and a translucent acrylic back. LEDs inside light the back, and a warm glow spreads on the wall around each letter.
You choose from three golds, and the choice changes the sign more than you might expect:
- Brushed (satin) gold has a fine grain. It reads warmer and softer and hides fingerprints better.
- Champagne gold is a paler, quieter tone for walls where bright gold would feel too strong.
- Mirror gold is polished like jewelry. It reflects the room, the lights and the people walking past, and shows reflections and fingerprints more than brushed gold.
By day the gold faces are the sign: they catch daylight and the room's lighting. At night the faces go deeper in tone and the halo takes over, drawing a warm line around every letter. Warm white 3000 K is the usual pairing with gold, because the metal and the light stay in the same warm family. Neutral or white light is available, and adjustable white lets you change your mind later.
Salons, med spas, boutiques, hotels, restaurants and reception walls use gold halo letters most. They look best on smooth, light walls such as white, cream, blush or pale stone, where the halo shows clearly. Glossy tile behind them mirrors the LEDs, so it is best avoided.
The letters mount flush to the wall, so the glow comes out around the back edge with no visible posts. A full-size paper template and the mounting hardware come with the sign; standoffs only if you ask. Depth is typically 2 to 3 in, and the price estimator covers letters 4 in to 60 in tall.
The gold is a thin, hard titanium coating, so treat it gently. Clean it with a soft microfiber cloth and mild soap and water; abrasive pads, metal polish and harsh cleaners wear the coating, starting at the edges.
Indoor letters plug in through a 100-240 V adapter; outdoor letters use IP65 LED modules and a hard-wired outdoor power supply connected by a licensed electrician. The power supply and LED modules are UL / cUL listed components. Installation and permits are not included.
Gold costs a little more than brushed stainless; the price estimator on this page shows the range. Send your logo and wall size, and we email a free drawing with a lit preview and the exact price before anything is built.
How to choose
Pick the gold by where the sign hangs. Behind a reception desk or anywhere people can reach it, brushed gold keeps looking clean. High on a feature wall, mirror gold gives the most shine and reflection. Champagne suits soft, pale interiors and brands that want gold without the glare.
Look at what the letters will reflect. Mirror gold facing a window or a busy room will show that view; brushed gold just glows.
Keep the wall light and smooth so the halo shows, and stay with warm white unless your brand is cool-toned. Indoors, the dimmer lets you soften the glow for evening. Send your logo file and the wall size, plus a photo of the wall, and tell us which gold you are considering; the drawing shows it lit.
Questions
Is the gold real gold?
No. It is a gold-colored titanium coating on 304 stainless steel, not solid or plated gold, so the letters keep the strength of stainless steel underneath.
Brushed gold or mirror gold?
Brushed gold reads warmer and softer and hides fingerprints better. Mirror gold reflects the room like a polished mirror and shows fingerprints and reflections more, so it suits letters mounted out of reach.
Which light color goes with gold?
Warm white 3000 K is the usual pairing, because the light and the metal stay in the same warm tone. Adjustable white lets you try cooler light after installation.
How do I clean gold letters?
Wipe them with a soft microfiber cloth, dry or slightly damp. Avoid abrasive pads, which scratch the finish.
Can gold halo letters go outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor builds use IP65 LED modules and a hard-wired outdoor power supply that a licensed electrician connects.
Does the gold finish wear off?
It can if it is scrubbed. The titanium coating is thin and hard; abrasive pads, metal polish and harsh cleaners wear it, starting at the edges. A soft cloth with mild soap and water is all it needs.
Which walls suit gold halo letters?
Smooth, light, matte walls such as white, cream, blush or pale stone, where the warm halo shows clearly. Dark walls absorb the glow, and glossy tile or glass mirrors the LEDs as bright spots.
Are gold halo letters mounted on standoffs?
No. We mount them flush to the wall, and the glow comes out around the back edge of each letter with no visible posts. Standoffs only if you ask for them.
